Thousands of years ago, chia or oil-sage ( Salvia hispanica ) seeds belonged to the daily diet of the Mayans and Aztecs. Warriors got their energy and strength from the seeds. Chia seeds are popular with athletes and especially long distance runners.
Use: add to a smoothie, juice or salad. Soak in water, juice or milk for 10 minutes before use. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake of 15g!
